Decluttering Tips Part 2 for Organizing Your Thoughts So You Can Dream Again!
Ready for Decluttering tips, Part 2? Did you do part 1? Great let’s go…
After losing everything 3 times, I mean EVERYTHING (don’t ask), I decided I won’t let it get me down. I wasn’t going to allow it to define who I am. Although I can “do depression” well, (I can probably be the poster child for it), I have something in me that fights to move on and move up and move forward. And I hope I can help you with that too.
Now with yesterday’s homework in hand… let’s dream. Imagine yourself doing what you’ve dreamed about. See yourself doing it. For me it was being a writer. I love writing. But I always had a fear of sending it out there. I remember John Maxwell saying, “get your first failure out of the way.”
For me, I had to get my first rejection letter out of the way. So I worked and worked and worked on my first masterpiece, “Take a Jesus Break.” I hired an editor to edit it and sent it to a large Christian Magazine. 2 months later, I didn’t get a rejection letter I got an acceptance letter.
With that, I worked on other pieces “to get my first rejection letter.” Oddly, every article was accepted. Today, I have articles in some of the largest publications and have my first book out because I invested in myself.
None of that would have happened if I didn’t sit down to write. I had to take lots of classes, I had to have editors rip apart my work, I had to say no to having coffee with friends, and not to sitting in front of the TV so I could have what I wanted, but I did it and it’s paid off.
You can have your dreams too… If you want something bad enough you will work towards it. For example, if I gave you an all expense paid trip to Hawaii you would go no thought about what needs to be done at home or work right? The same goes for investing in your future. A small step today leads to huge success tomorrow.
Ready to Dream? Ready to Invest in Yourself? Go for it, I’ll be waiting for you here – looking forward to applaud you and cheer you on!
Best of Success,
Kelly
